2015 Sprint Run production numbers according to Gibson

Surprising how many ways Gibson says "We are not going to tell you". My research told me if back when it was new, and an authorized Gibson dealer advertised a model as "one of xxxx", that is most likely accurate. Problem also contrary to your answer, even publically announced and...

Confusing trend I’ve begun to notice

And playing only though head phones. Yuck.

Confusing trend I’ve begun to notice

I don't know why that would be confusing. It is either on or off. No matter what the reason for leaving it off (lazy, frequent TR adj., lost it, etc) what difference does it make? To you or anyone else?

    Amazing Pawn Shop Find!!!

That's a great find, and a great guitar. Hope it it real. Not trying to rain on the parade, but the sky has been raining fakes. Actually some of them are really pretty good. But regardless, I hope it is real! Looks like a killer!

    Hair in my standard!

It is more than refreshing to hear a voice of reason and one that puts simple common sense in perspective. Congrats for being able to clearly understand what really makes a good guitar. So tired of hearing about stupid little inconsequential little cosmetic "flaws" that bring on the chest...

    The 2015 Gibson SG Standard

Don't forget the titanium saddles on the 2015s. I got the 2015 SG Special brand new for cheap figuring I'd flip it. But after playing it I knew I won't sell it. With the zebra '61 pups, it sounds great and plays great. With all the 2015 upgrades, its all that the Standard usually is.

Please rate this ocean blue standard 60’s

Okay, now I can see it better and I think I understand what you are questioning. It really doesn't look bad. Quite a few of the Ocean Blues were muddy looking. I mean they literally had some brown areas that looked dirty. Even so, it is much more important that you got a good one. I'll...

Please rate this ocean blue standard 60’s

Same here, I don't know what you are concerned about. It looks fine as far as I can see in that small pic that can't be enlarged. I know some of the Ocean Blues didn't look that good. Mine is a 2015 Traditional.

Has anyone had any luck getting a COA replaced?

Sure you can try. But asking here won't help. You need to ask Gibson.

    ES 335 Headstock Medallion

I'm saying there is no gap, Dialed into the right amp, the ES LP won't give anything 335 or LP can't. There is a reason Gibson is not still making them. If they sold well enough, they would still make them. Stands to reason that they didn't sell well enough because they didn't check off...

    ES 335 Headstock Medallion

Hope you can play one before you get it. I'm quite underwhelmed with the ES LP. They are okay, and quality is good. But they are in between a 335 and a LP. Which would be great if there was a gap there, but there isn't. A 335 picks up where an LP leaves off. So it does nothing for me that...

    ES 335 Headstock Medallion

I can understand your perspective, About the same I started seriously looking. The CME Memphis warehouse blowout sale sent me scurrying. One, to determine if the prices were really as "once in a lifetime" as they appeared to be and the other was determine if the Memphis models were really...

    ES 335 Headstock Medallion

Pretty good summation. The higher end Memphis model like all reissues were in close competition with Gibson Custom Shop (Nashville, to be clear here. ) When Memphis closed and moved to Nashville, the higher end Memphis models , again like the reissues, automatically became Custom Shop models...

Has anyone had any luck getting a COA replaced?

I agree. I had a ES 175 I bought as part of the great CME Gibson warehouse blowout sale a few years ago. Brand new, but due to the low prices, they were all sold w/o Gibson warranties. It came with a COA with mistaken identity. It was the correct COA with the right serial number. But it had...
