Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Isn't it a bitch when you move? Sometimes you just can't take it all with you and end up thinning the herd a bit. In the case of this early 70's Acoustic 360/361 stack, the prior owner (my cousin) just didn't want it taking up room in his new house and therefore loaded it into my Ford without...
I'm ready to pull the trigger and upgrade my pots and caps on my 1990 Firebird. I've done two RS kits on two of my guitars, and just love the added clarity, control and depth that they added. I want to do the same for my Firebird but the difference in the pickups has me scratching my head a...

Hey fellas, I'm in NO way affiliated with this guy or whomever he's representing but I just saw this pop up on my local Craigs.

This guy is selling a "collection of old original wood molds, silk screens, wood guides and a QC/QA book used in...
Fellas, looking for some advice and general info. I have seen some video on Youtube and noticed that some birds are brighter and snappy, some darker. Is there a production era (in the last 30 years) where they made particularly better ones - meaning necks, electronics, stability? I'm digging...
Was just combing Craigs and found this new listing for a body mold for a Gibson flattop from the 70's. I'm not associated with this thing, nor do I even care about 70's Gibson acoustics, but I figured somebody in the Gibson lutherie biz might find it interesting...
Check it out, posted today on the Metro forum:

Looks like George is going on hiatus until further notice while he "restructures" the company (store).
Glad I got my Metro amps in time - best I've ever played!
Trying to track down a lead on a mystery instrument that a co-worker has. It's a custom made bass, says "Lowe Rider" on a headstock label, and he got it in a garage sale for next to nothing. The story behind it is that it was made by a guy by the name of Bob Lowe who supposedly was a guitar...
Years ago I picked up a '68 Fender Bandmaster (drip edge) cab, to pair with my '69 Bassman head. I got it used off the local Craigs list for $300. Now I traded off my Bassman head, and need to move that Bandmaster to pay for some new toyz, and noticed that the market on these things just ain't...
I'm looking to try and kick up the drive a bit on my '66 Champ. It's got an old RCA 5Y3GT, an Electro Harmonics 6V6GT and a Sovtek 12AX7.
Am I at my limit already with a this glass assortment or is there a particular tube brand that will give me a little more gain/fuzz?
This year is shaping up to be a good one for gear! I can honestly say I haven't spent hardly any $$ and have, for the most part, made some great lateral moves, all thanks to my local Craigslist.
First off, I relocated/sold my Marshall 50 watt (MetroAmp PTP conversion) and am in process of...
Well Santa delivered the goods and brought me a Bigsby and a Vibramate plate. 10 Minutes of installation, including a fresh set of strings, and I was up and running.
After playing a full rehearsal evening with it I have to admit I'm loving it. Great subtle wobbly tremolo with just a wiggle of...
Fellas,
I've got a 69 Silverface Bassman head that got a funky job done on it many years ago and has never sounded 'right' since.
I figured I'd take a crack at putting it right again - or better, and was wondering which Blackface circuit is the one I want? My bro Gutpile has a 65 Twin that...
Do all the p-90's equipped Juniors / Specials have that big fat 50's style neck, or are there others that have the slimmer 60's style????
I'm really thinking of getting into the P-90 game but don't really care for the baseball bat necks.
My old 70's Marshall 4x12 has hit a couple too many rough spots on the sidewalk and the wood surrounding one of the caster wheels has gotten so "soft" that it's not holding it in place anymore. I tried new screws but they can't hold onto any wood that's not solid underneath.
What to do??? I...
