I have never called a Las Paul top "stunning".
I reserve that term for guitars like this.

so sorry. is this your first bout?
Yes. I knew I'd probably get it eventually. Finally almost back to normal except for my voice, I sound like Harvey Fierstein right now. LOL

#174 Does not exist in the D'Aquisto Build Records. There is NO Serial Number is on the guitar. This guitar was not made in 1974.

The guy who posted this guitar is completely wrong on the year and has no idea about the maker of this guitar or what serial order number this guitar really is. The #174 that is claimed in a BS. Story. The post is wrong, and misleading since this is NOT a 1974 made guitar. James built the first solid body in 1976. This guitar was most likely made in 1979, but without the original invoice it is not possible to determine the date it was started or finished or who it was built for. James D'Aquisto did not put serial numbers on the solid body model. He listed serial numbers in the order that he built the guitars in a record journal book he kept which has now been copied and published. All solid body guitars are noted with the letter "E" in front of the serial order number. The serial number 174 does not exist at all in any records. I can verify that this is an original D'Aquisto made instrument, because I have seen it in person and looked it over.

You sound a little angry.
Mistakes notwithstanding, it's a very cool D'Aquisto solidbody, right?
I don't guess the serial number or year much affects how it looks, plays or sounds.

Perhaps, but it’s invariably good to have the record corrected should it be so required.

Perhaps.
The correct record is especially good when it's a rare stamp or a dime, but it's INVARIABLY good when a guitar is beautiful, plays well and sounds good, as I'm sure that one does.
