Hi everyone. I've had a '68 Custom (520XXX) for a few years. I'm guessing it shipped in October 1968 or so, based on various things that I've read about serial numbers/ship dates. The pots were swapped in the '70s (1975). Am I crazy to want to source proper '68 pots? If I'm not crazy, would the experts here recommend only '68 pots to be legit or would '67 pots be acceptable, since many of the '68s had '67 pots?

Not crazy at all me thinks.
I'd do the same if I were lucky enough to have a '68 LPC ✌️ :)
Re. '68 or '67 pots, I can't say what is "right" but I would expect both to be.
Oh, and please post PICS.

Thanks! I don't have any good photos, but I'll try to take some. The shots from the seller were horrible.

I just found some CTS pots (6835) which seem to be perfect datewise, so I may go for it.

I'll post pics ASAP.

The 35th week 68 pots would be about correct. I had a 521xxx goldtop that shipped about Oct/Nov 32nd/33rd week 68 dated pots.
