• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and now have to move to a new host. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE HAVE MOVED THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER! Let us know how things are going! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin
  • We're having some "break in" period issues with our new email system provider - the Achilles Heel of our conversion to a new hosting site. Please give us some time to resolve this. Thanks and apologies.

When did Gibson start using real bees (Luxe paper & oil) I recently purchased a 2019 TV Junior and a 2017 Special, both Historic, and they both have the fake ones.

I think 2019, I have a late 2018 R9 that had the cheap knockoff caps. Gibson's 2019 specs say Luxe bumblebees

It was 2019, although I think Gibson changes specs in historic Standards first and then other models follow later on based on a few guitars I have owned.

What is Gibson using now in it's reissues now that Luxe appears to be Tango Uniform?

They still use Luxe. Donovan might be behind on the smaller orders, but from what I’ve gathered he is still able to meet his large contractual obligations. I asked if my recent M2M would come with’em.

Both my `64 reissue Murphy Lab ES-335, my 2022 R-9 Les Paul Murphy Lab & my 2023 ES-335(`61 Reissue) all have the vintage spec .022 Caps!
