A friend of mine accidently knocked over his Firebird and the only thing that broke were two of the banjo tuners( lucky lucky lucky). Anyone know where you can buy individual tuners instead of an entire set? Thanks Billy

Hey Billy,
If it was an older Firebird check Ebay, I've seen them there ocasionally. Jim Mouradian in Cambridge, 617-547-5454, might have some laying around. Kox-Ax's has a big stock of old parts. Their number is 1-800-814-0432.
Allparts has replacement Firebird pegs. Part # TK 7550-010 $55.00 Banjo Style Guitar Keys for Firebird® Chrome 14:1. They have them with gold plating for $70.00 ea. If the guitar has nickle parts, the chrome ones won't match. I would get the gold ones and buff off the gold to expose the nickle beneath it.

Thanks Billy- I'll check with Allparts tomorrow. Now that I think of it, Frank's Firebird is new and I think they ARE chrome tuners so the Allparts ones will be correct. He is really lucky- it fell off of a stand and hit the concrete floor and only two tuners got hurt. Here's Frank pre-fall.... Billy

what exactly broke? they can be fixed. Mine were loose and I found that the tunner key posts are just pressed on.

not in this case.... the shafts are diecast white metal- very cheap metal that would break easily- frankly, I'd want that so it acts as a shock absorber and saves the neck from snapping. Billy
