Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Haven't there also been "featherweights" which are super light ones, under 8 lbs, that aren't chambered? I'm recalling Wildwood selling them under the name "featherweights" or something like that. I'm not sure I'd want an LP that light to be honest
All chambered reissues will have a CR serial number.
Hopefully member Dan Nichols will see this post and chime in. He’s the resident chambered expert, having run Chambered-reissue.org.
As for the weight being realistically 7.6 lbs it’s possible…however. A lot of guys play games with the “weight description”
For example a guy tried to sell me a guitar about 15 years.ago. He said it weight 8.9 lbs. however it wasn’t 8 lbs 9 oz. it was .9 or 90% of a pound. A pound is 16 oz. 90% would be 14.5 oz. ok not a huge deal but it was a 5.5 ounce difference.
so 7.6 lbs could actually be 7 lbs 9.6 oz.?
that’s very possible. My 2014 R8 came in at 7 lbs 14 oz. my current 60 Aniiv R0 is 8 lbs flat and that include an extra 4 oz with Grover tuners and the almost-3 oz Anniversary toggle switch back cover plate.
