I like relic’ed guitars IF they are done well. I like having several guitars and would love if they were all well played 1960’s vintage but I could never afford that. This is the next best way that while still expensive is obtainable for me.

The assumption that one dings their own guitar up by playing it, makes them more authentic, is bullshit. practice makes me more authentic, the finish on my guitar has nothing to do with any of the nonsense about who, and how you earn your stripes.

The one glaring difference between the aged vs non aged crowd, the aged crowd doesn’t care if you buy a shiny new guitar,the non aged crowd thinks they have some moral obligation to call you a poser or fraud,because you don’t conform to their way of thinking.

Where the non aged crowd slinks back into their fuckin hole comes when you sell them a shiny new guitar with a few of your street cred dings, then they want a discount. Street cred not mentioned

I know a player who bought a heavily aged Les Paul reissue about ten years ago.
Every week he repairs a tiny "aged" portion of the guitar.
The guitar looks almost brand-new today.
Except that the frets are worn - which is the exact opposite of an "aged" guitar.
