Congrats! that is a amazingly gorgeous R9, and I am not just saying that because two days ago i bought a 2023 R9 ML heavy aged in Golden Poppy that could be it's twin! Mine is in my avatar pic.
to be honest they look so much alike I did not even bother to make a thread about getting mine, it would be too redundant. Mine is also from Oct! 🤣 The weight is 8.96 and also 933XXX

"Poppy Burst?" Excuse my ignorance, but I have never heard this term. Appears to be a faded Ice Tea. This sound right?
It is GIbson's modern day term for the color. Historically there is no "Golden Poppy" burst. essentially it is faded iced tea right before it goes to pure lemon burst.
These will not fade like the old ones so the color is pretty much what you are stuck with. I love the "Golden Poppy" color so I am happy with mine.

Oh yeah no doubt in love with mine as well, really difficult to put it down once I start playing it. I wanted to ask is the back of your ML more brownish than cherry? I really cannot tell in the pics?
Mine is more on the light brown side than the original cherry.

Thank you!!! Yes, I am very pleased with my purchase. Amazing guitar. Probably the best Les Paul I ever had and I have had many. Very resonant!

There is a recent post by 'Ed A' about a 2024 Poppy Burst that looks very much like our guitars!!! Is there a post showing more pics of yours?

Yes but it is over at MLP not here. I did not post it here because there were already two NGD R9 Poppy burst threads! 😁
