Seeking some sage advice from the more experienced tone guys and gals. Which pickup in the neck would match better with a burstbucker pro in the bridge in my LP Deluxe? A Pearly Gates or a Custombucker? All 3 have different Alcino Magnets (5, 2, and 3 for the custombucker). I have to pay to get a pickup installed so I just want to be sure. Google isn't much help with what pickups match well. I'm still learning, and never going to gig, but I've quickly become fascinated with the tones from Gibson LP's. Why the hell did I always like Fenders? Absolutely love the BB Pro in the bridge, but the 490 has to go. Which pickup is more logical to go with? Thanks Everybody! Appreciate it:)

I'd stay away from the Seymour Duncan.... I'd put a burstbucker in the neck..

I once restored a 1999 Classic Premium Plus, which was messed up. Got fretboard inlays from Kim Lafleur, Faber bridge and a brass stop tail. The biggest surprise were the golden covered pickups: nice covers but cheap Korean pickups. I found a nice 500T and 490. I swapped one side magnet to a wood stick and the 490 to a A5 magnet. This 490 got a nice T-Top flavor to it.
Go with a 490 but don't forget to swap the magnet.

I went with a custombucker in the neck. Pairs amazingly with the burstbucker pro in the neck. It was exactly the sound I had hoped it would be, and gives my Deluxe a little more character!

Why that? I’ve had many and still have SD pickups along with original Gibson, never had any issues…
I'm not a big fan of SD pickups, in my opinion they are kind of bland, and if you're going for a P.A.F sound sd pickups don't sound anything like an original p.a.f. .... In fact few do. I have Sd, throwbaks, Wizz, and original Paf's and in my opinion the only pickup that comes close is Stephens design . But again that's just my opinion.
