Gotta agree with Junior Special. You can knock McCartney's vegetarian politics or some of his lighter hits, but the guy is undoubtedly the most talented songwriter of the last 50 years. And his bass playing from 66-68 is astounding.

Now, I can see Yoko making the list. After all, many people consider her a rock artist.
Maca is completely ignored as one of the best bass players ever to exist.
