They were all good-looking tops, incredible finish albeit a departure from the prior G0 fare... still great, this one no exception. I love that vibrant red to dark. Like a Brockburst-Darkburst hybrid, when all those new unique burst name were coming out.Technically not a G0 but this is one of a limited run of R0's made for GC in 2014.
That is smoking hot ! I don't remember seeing this one before ? What a beauty I must say !That is what this one is I think.
It had a page number from Beauty of the Burst on the box.
Unless you're hung up on a period correct style serial number, the G0's are probably the best Historic bang for the buck. I also have found that the plaintop G0 tops and colors are fantastic. If I could play a pencil thin neck, Id have a few of these...!!!!

Yep. I grabbed one of these 'plain top' Darkbursts too.......Technically not a G0 but this is one of a limited run of R0's made for GC in 2014. These were produced in a Gloss finish & appointments, not given the VOS treatment and the top has some modest flame to it. I was ironically looking for a plaintop G0 but got this on an offer I couldn't refuse.View attachment 19101
Aloha Bro GO ! I have question about the GO ser numbers. I picked up a Darkburst with ser# GO 50001 would you happen to know the meaning of these ltrs and numbers I couldn't match on any of the Gibson Custom Shop serial number search . The seller mentioned something about it being an early series ser number or did I just get ripped? Mahalo for your understanding patience.Unless you're hung up on a period correct style serial number, the G0's are probably the best Historic bang for the buck. ok, as you know a "regular" R0 serial number would read 0 5001. A Guitar Center R0 simply has the G in front of the zero, which designates it as the GC model...hence G0 5001.Aloha Bro GO ! That would be a SERIOUS hang up.Unless you're hung up on a period correct style serial number, the G0's are probably the best Historic bang for the buck. I also have found that the plaintop G0 tops and colors are fantastic. If I could play a pencil thin neck, Id have a few of these...!!!!
You'd be surprised. I know R0 owners who won't touch a G0 because of the serial number. I have also come across Historic owners who won't buy a guitar with a 6 digit serial number (once production exceeds 999 units) because its not a "historically correct" style number ie. 9 2999 and the next guitar would be 921000 with no space between the 1st and 2nd digit. To each his own, I guess!!!That would be a SERIOUS hang up.
Not surprised at all, but I still think those guys need psychotherapy! You'd be surprised. I know R0 owners who won't touch a G0 because of the serial number.
