    Martin Barre

Exactly - sounded great with Hiwatt, with Marshall, still sound great with Soldanos, as i saw him with his band.

    How 1974 was?

I wouldnt say that early 70s Norlins or 66-71 Fenders generally sucked... They were still very comparable to earlier ones tonewise.

How similar is a 69LPC to an Early 70? Other than volute..

Very similar feeling, especially between late 69 and 70. Practically the same guitars, specs were nearly the same too. I have had many 70, early 71s and now have settled on early to mid 69. Its a bit lighter and more resonant, bigger sounding than my early 71 with 70 specs. . Other 68s or early...

HNGD! Finally in late 60s camp - 69 Les Paul Custom, some observations

Fully agree! This one is light as a bonus and really very loud and resonant. :)

Widespread misconceptions about great classic amps.

My former early 77 DR504 could really cover similar territory, compressed more than 72 DR103. Early 70s DR103s are stiffer with more punch. Some of the 69s and 70s had more preamp gain, kind of tone on early Jethro Tull abums.

Widespread misconceptions about great classic amps.

This is nearly fully cranked (still not fully) all original 1972 DR103 with 1972 SE4122 original fanes cab. Crunchy and punchy as hell, even can do singing leads too when wanted. Really not only a clean amp, has tons of midrange and can do even Marshall gain, but still much more articulate, a...

    69 gibson les paul custom

Nice one and really rare, congrats! Seems fully legit, serial is 891xxx? Should have the pancake middle layer from the end of 69.

HNGD! Finally in late 60s camp - 69 Les Paul Custom, some observations

Hi folks, after some hiatus finally tracked and bought interesting early to mid 1969 Les Paul Custom with interesting specs. :) Excellent, all original condition, only lightly played. Frets, fretboard, binding and neck overall are especially in amazing shape. Very light one, measuring only...
