A 1982 Les Paul Custom has come to me with some work done by unknown people.
One oddity is a Gibson pickup dated to January 12, 1979 with four wires. I am not familiar with such a pickup.
This is a three pickup LPC, and this pickup has been installed in the middle position. What guitar would have come from Gibson in 1979:with a 4-wire pickup? An RD Custom? Just curious I am. The other two pickups are correct for the guitar…20th week of 1982.
I appreciate any insight.
