• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

That sounds great and looks great too!!! Several months ago, I got the regular mahogany version, and I’m in love with it. Explorers are special animals.

just nished a 2-year order on a blackguard w/ one of the majors. it came in this week (looks like checking all the usual suspects that the '22 production run finally hit the street, ie. ur unit) but this one looked like it was possibly a runt of the litter. when i placed order got a $1K discount plus no sales tax (working player) so i realize the $ was [relatively] on my side. they said they only got one unit in, which is unusual as they typically get like four. am banged up about it, what a waste of time - [for me]. u got a beauty - who was the dealer/weight if i may ask ?

From what I remember OP posting in an earlier thread, the one in the video is from Andertons in the UK.
Seems to be quite a few of these in Europe and the UK.

I'd recommend Banker Custom if you're a bit let down by Gibson's offerings, he has a deal with Gibson where they've authorized him to use their blueprints, he does discounts for working musicians and it's just one guy (Matt) building it from start to finish in Georgia, USA.
You won't be waiting 2 years either!

OP certainly got one of the good ones at least!

Yes mate was indeed Andertons . I looked around all stores available here but the two pieces or grain match were not so desirable to me . I'd got the V from Andertons and coincidently they had the best looking Explorer at the time . It looks like one piece and only sign of join is on edge near lower strap button . Luck really , it's sounds great and has a lovely loose feel .

With Guitar Center`s great 'return policy', I ordered mine thru their website knowing that if I didn`t like it, I could easily return it & continue to order one from them until one was sent to me that I liked. The way their online system works, the merchandise is shipped from the manufacturer to their warehouse & sits 'unopened' until it`s sent to the buyer, so I was the first person to see mine after it was boxed up by the Gibson`s CS in Nashville & shipped to GC`s warehouse & then on to me. I was thankful that I got a pretty good looking one.

Very nice ! I liked the V Andertons had on display in store and demoed on website . When I phoned they had another unopened in warehouse . They sent photos next day and it was even better , flames and lighter . 500 mile round trip to collect fueled by endorphines that day !
