'58/'59 Black-guard "V" pics?

I'm trolling for pictures of original '59/'59 Flying Vs with black pickguards. I know there weren't many. I have a privately-built all-Korina V replica, and while searching the 'net for original V pictures, I found the site I posted in the other V thread. In that site, there's a picture of an original black-guard V. I thought it looked kinda cool, and decided I'll put a black guard on mine just for some variation. My WD guard arrived today. I went back and looked at that site again and noticed something - the plastic output jack mounting ring on the black-guard V is white, like all the rest.

Two things spring to mind:

1. It's a replacement because the original black one broke
2. It's original, and they never made black output jack mounting rings.

So... I'm looking for more pictures of original black-guard Vs to see if they all came that way...

Yes, I'm an AVH, even with Vs...

Thanks for any assistance.

Actually, the white ring could well be original, but they did make black/black ones too.

All of the black guard/white ring combos I've seen were on V's shipped in the early '60s... with an emphasis on "I've seen" as a caveat.

Thanks, Cody. I'll probably leave the white ring on mine with the black guard. I like my stuff to be a tiny bit 'different'... :lol Thanks for the reply. :salude
