Does anyone know what guitar Dickey is playing in this performance from Saturday Night Live in 1982? It’s not his usual LP, not a 335, and not the PRS of later years. AC65956D-9FF1-4041-99C4-BD9C4A1011DA.jpeg

That ain't no Gibson, it's uh Ibanez!
It's an Ibanez Artist. It's a great guitar and I'd love to have one but I've never found one with a comfy neck. I'm into the early 24-fret dot-neck version with the "butterfly" pickup covers. Alas.

I had one of those, but with a more traditional stoptail. It sounded great but weighed a ton and had too much of a slim-taper neck for me.

I own an Ibanez Artist, and I love it, even if it is as heavy as boulder. Mine is an 83, but I had an 81 model at one point. Pretty much the same. I had bought the 81 new back then, and I sold it because I was young, stupid, and in love....tch tch tch. I looked a long time for one, and I finally found a lefty a couple of years ago. In fact, I was playing it yesterday. They were "Crafted in Japan," and they are incredible guitars. I wouldn't do a three hour gig with mine as heavy as it is, but it does sound good.
