Are historic tailpiece studs exactly the same as Gibson USA studs

My R7 is gonna need a new tailpiece stud. I want to replace it with another one from Gibson, but, figured I would try to buy the less expensive set like this http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PTTP015/ rather than the more expensive set like this http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PTTP060/

Is there any difference between the studs in these sets?

I don't know, but man I can't express enough how much better the Pigtails made my Historics sound. I never thought it would make that much of a difference in resonance being on the other side of the bridge. Your R7 deserves it man!

They are different, the distance between the flanges that the bar fits inside are narrower on the vintage studs. If you have the aluminum tailpiece and use the standard studs, the tail will tilt inside the studs. And why are you buying the whole tail/stud set if all you need are the studs?

Well, my Gibson Historic aluminum tailpiece with stock studs had a sloppy enough fit that the TP tilted even though everything was stock.

Again, the Pigtail stuff is a *huge* upgrade, IMO. Both the studs and the tailpiece. Some people don't like the tailpiece and find it too "zingy". I think it adds just another 2-3% of the vintage-like, airy honk and resonance. I like the full length studs too, but I haven't tried shorter Pigtail ones to compare, just compared to Tone-Pro locking steel studs which are same length as stock Historic ones.

Pigtail studs are far superior to stock Historic studs.
Pigtail' are vintage correct steel and the Historic studs are brass.
