Black plastic and binding on a 2018 Historic 58...did they have this on any original 1958 Les Pauls?

Noob question please...I just bought this guitarles paul bb.jpeg with black binding and plastics. I know there is some haterade regarding look, and Trogly did a video about it...dont care, I like it...this thing rocks!!! Question is...with this being a Historic Custom Shop...was black binding a thing on Les Pauls in 58? Thanks

It’s different. Will certainly divide opinion. My advice, take the sticker off the pickguard asap. It’ll sun fade otherwise. I speak from experience.

|Black bunding was never a thing on any originals - though I seem to remember seeing a couple orignals through the years that did have black plastics - PG, pickups rings, etc.
