I've got a 2018 that was so late in the production run that it didn't go through final inspection until Feb 2019. Nonetheless it still had all 2018 specs including potted CB's and fake bumblebee caps, before they went to Luxe brand in 2019 spec. I swapped out the caps for Luxe, put in Thro Baks, but kept the original pots for now.

Gibson is a real mystery to me because mine is a OCT 11, 2018 but has the appointments that were listed for the 2019 run such as, Unpotted Custombuckers, dark Analine dyed back, Carmelita neck carve, ambered over Logo, tinted binding? Where these on any other 2018's?

I do not believe a thing Gibson tells us anymore! They have proven to me that they cannot be trusted.
Come on! You mean to tell me you weren’t interested in getting the most accurate P.A.F. pickups ever for $1000 a set; even better than the 1958-1960 P.A.F. pickups? They already reverse engineered the plastics, the nitro, the pots, luxe caps, even the wood!!! ?

But i already got the "Most accurate PAF's" back when they first introduced the Custombuckers? Remember? ?

I don't see a refret as a big deal. It's like putting tires on your car.
Yeah i agree as long as the refret was a good one. I did what i could to check the work. I used a feeler .004 feeler gauge under the fret and the frets are all seated tight into the board
and i checked it for level with a fret rocker and there is only one area that is a little high up at the 19th fret but it is really minimal. no buzz or dead notes when bending.
The fret ends how ever are not as nice as i like them so i will round those over and smooth them out.

The hang tags that came with mine were for the 2019 spec, listing the Luxe caps and unpotted CB's. But mine absolutely did not have Luxe caps. Side by side with the Luxe's I bought the difference was obvious. I didn't take off the pu covers to confirm wax potted but they were not nearly as microphonic as the unpotted Thro Baks I put in, which leads me to believe the CBs were potted. My conclusion was that by the time mine left the factory they only had 2019 hang tags left to include in the case. They might also have been using up whatever 2018 spec parts they had left, hence the caps.
