• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

It's great seeing players enjoy these guitars so much.

Not too shabby!

Is that an old OR-120 back there? I have a 90's reissue made with 70's parts and love it. I didn't even think I was going to buy it as I'd never played through one and assumed Orange were too hairy/gainy for me but damn if those amps don't have a beautiful sound. I demo'd a 6G2 Princeton for a guy and said "watch this:" I plugged into the Orange and it sounds like a huge version of the Princeton I had. Every amp should have that "FAC" knob, quite a range of sounds/feel you can dig out of it.

Gotta have one of each on those days when you just can't make up your mind!

You simply need a Strat in your stable. I defy anyone to really emulate something like the clean sound of a Knopfler or Jim Messina without one!

I do miss my strat. It really does have that something that we like as musicians.

Nice pic Tom. Party time.

I don't know... still seems like something is missing.

Funny I was thinking the same thing.

I would love for a real nerd to do some kind of sonic analysis of how the strat, the les paul and the explorer each sat in the mix in the skynrd stuff. would you think the explorer because of the korina would have a higher frequencies and the les paul some more bassier tones?

Not exactly what you were asking for but here you can check out the isolated Strat of the late, great Mr. King.
