Hi Gentz !
I am so excited about this Golden Royale pedal !
Why should one have only 1 Klon if you can have 2 and stack them for KILLER sounds ?

I have been trying many drive pedals for my '68 Marshall clone from Kool Amps and somehow I was always intrigued by the mythe around the Klon Centaur but backed of most of the times because of its overhyped price :(

2 weeks ago I stumbled on a awesome demo on YT where the Decibelics Golden Horse got compared side by side with the original Klon Centaur and I like to believe that my ear are quite good but could not hear any difference between these 2 pedals so decided to order it !
It costs 1/10 of a Klon Centaur so why not......I also looked for the Klon KTR but because they were both equally priced and I decided to go for the Golden Royale because the biggest advantage : I have now 2 channels so I can stack them and man, that is da sh*t !!!

Anyhow, let me know your thoughts....I have never even seen or played a real Klon, but I like to believe that after watching the comparison , the Decibelics is all the way up there and I have watched lots of other demos where the Klon was compared to other Clones , but every time I could hear the difference between them.

What I think matter even more : the FEEL under your fingers when playing...this Golden Royale did catch the 'magic' of the Klon Centaur IMHO.

Enjoy !

The magic of the Klon is the overlaying harmonics and seemingly natural, controllable feedback. The searing sustain of a glorious vibrato'd note. If Bill Finnegan didn't make it, it lacks that magic.

This is why there are countless counterfeit "clones".

Thanks mate and as I have never played, tested one , I can only trust my ears when others do a comparison.....BUT all that does not matter to me if the 'clone' has the same magic which a real Klon has.....whatever I buy has to fit my needs and feel and sound and see if I can make it work with my setup......I was looking for a good Clean / Mid Boost and luckily both are in this pedal, so that is the only thing which matters to me.

If you're feeling wild, try the Way Huge Green Rhino. Whatever the newest version is. It could be the best pedal I've ever heard for the money. With the right fine tuning, it can be the ultimate ripper of a mid boost.

The RYRA clone purports to be the same Klon circuit. They sound great, and with all due respect to RYRA and Klon, The Bad Monkey is a great pedal.
I did hear a comparison video with many clones including the Ryra and to my ears there was clearly difference between that and the original , perhaps they just did not dial it right……but again, I would not care less if a clone sounds exactly thè same the Klon Centaur….. if the pedal sounds right as a clean boost / overdrive , then that’s the one :)

I bought a totally cheapo chinese clone pedal from DH Gate. I'm completely imporessed with how it nails how I remember the Klon sounding. Very transparent, glassy shimmer. Killer upper harmonics. Sorta makes any of my amps sound very "dumbley".

We are lucky with all these companies providing us with such great tools in every price range ;)
