Dickey Betts' "Redtop" Goldtop...a bunch of cool pics!

I know...old thread...

Did anyone ever actually figure out what this guitar was?

Because here's Dickey's redtop/Goldie reunited with the "Toler burst" last weekend. Unless Dickey had a habit of stripping old gold tops and spraying them red, the stripped guitar in the original post wasn't a Dickey Betts redtop.

Interesting, the notion of Redtop being "reunited" with the Betts/Toler burst. (Hey, don't let 'em start drinking.) Since we're talking Dickey's guitar let me ask what finally happened with the Betts/Toler burst. I recall that it was put up for auction a year or two ago but then taken off the market. Having seen Toler play it, I've remained fascinated by it. I mean, he played the hell out of it.

Don’t know who owns it… it was played by Charlie Starr and Duane Betts at the Dickey tribute show… it sounded great
