On the Gibson site, they have in the news section, info on the new Custom-Art-Historic "Custom Authentics".....these are three of the key vintage RI models in "working vintage" constructin.
The 56 58 and 68 are made to look-feel-and sound like they have been played for years.
They will have the Burst Bucker pickups.
They also say the new "Artist Authentics" will include the Dickey Betts ultra-aged 1957 goldtop...............Hmmmmmmm

I saw it as well. I've wondered how long Gibson would hold off doing what Fender has been doing practically across the line in several flavors for much less. It will be interesting to see what the street pricing will be. I also figure that by now Murphy's probably trained a bunch of other CS elves on the "art of aging" and begun possibly planning for his exit (if he plans to make one). Whatcha think?

i wonder if they will be sold as murphy aged or just cs aged?? will that bring the $$$ down?

it's kinda funny to see gibson run a dickey betts model after all of these years..i remember back in the mid 90's he was playing strats and prs's..i was reading an old guitar mag the other night where he was bashing gibson pretty bad, and holding a prs mccarty on the cover...

I believe Dickey dropped his endorsement with Gibson due to Quality issues.
They made him a prototype of this Goldtop & he uses it nightly. In fact he tells
the crowd that "Gibson is finally building quality instruments like they used to"
"from good old wood" Sounded Damn good to me!!! Haven't seen him wielding a PRS since.
