I’ve seen this photo many times, and I love it more each time.lol I can’t get over just how white the plastics are on the bursts. I’m sure it’s just because of the lighting tho.

Imagine a player of Duane’s caliber latching onto vintage (at least by now) Gibson guitars to ply his trade. Rather fitting, I’d say. ?

I cried when Gregg died. Had I been a tad older, I’d have done the same in 1971. I was only 15. God love ya, ‘Dog.

….except for the yellowed lacquer covering the binding which was white when new.

You got a point there Wally........the light didn't reach around all of the binding did it.
The binding on my CS guitars is slightly more ivory than white.

I could be wrong, but my point was that the binding on those guitars has yellowed from the white binding that was there when the guitars were new.
Hey…they should have sprayed the pickup rings with clear lacquer so they would have yellowed, too!! But then..hey…what would we have to discuss if the6 had done that??? Lol….

I mean all things considered they were just over 10 years old at the time of this photo. I am sure several of us on here own historics older than these were in this photo. Who knows who owned them before Duane did, I would imagine someone much older who did not play them professionally.
