Hey guys, I've got a set of old Seymour's, and they have his name on the pickups..Like its screen printed or just inked on... What is the best thing to use to get that off of the bobbins.. I wonder about mineral spirits, don't want anything attacking the plastic..

Thanks...

Maybe Snags will know..it seems he is good with that stuff. I do not like ANYONE'S name on a pickup.

I think guitar polish will do it. So will metal polish, and that shouldn't affect the plastic.

Yeah...all of those should work with a little elbow grease. Good recommendations...

I do not believe in advertising for car dealers either....stickers, license plate brackets, etc. My dad once told a dealer to take all that s**t off of his new car...they refused.Their name was on our car 3 times. He said, ok, you could either pay me monthly for advertising for you, or you just take money off the price of the car. I think it cheapens a car, a pickup, a guitar, etc....

Just be thankful that truss rod covers aren't used as mini billboards, like picks and cables are from some places.

Occasionally I see photos of guys playing live with the name of the guitar maker masked out with black tape. There's definitely a part of me that thinks that's cool...
