Scored a 08 es 137 found in music shop in Maryland..my first guitar with a varitone ..Ebony board ...triburst in great shape heavyset guitar I've ever owned. But looking foreword to spending time with it. The varitone is more useful then I expected.. any love here for es 137s here..if so what gauge strings and type have worked for you...I feel some serious ole school sounds are just down the road!!!!

Mine is a Triburst also. I call it the voice. 9.3 lbs and I use 11-50 strings.

Besides being on the heavy side it is big body wise but I love the tone of this guitar. Love the ebony board.

Thanks guys..shes weighing in at close to 10 lbs..Just love the full size neck,ebony board..And all the sound so far from it.. Blues,jass, throw in some over drive !! And WOW !!Digging the varitone as well..Only thing is when iam using the middle switch"both pups" when i roll the vol down on anyone of the pick ups the sound doesnt cut out like any other guitar does with the same set up..Is this normal for a guitar with a varitone ??? Gonna try the the 10-50 strings ouy first..Thanks again for ya replys...

Mine does the same thing so I think it is normal. It may have something to do with the varitone. I do like the varitone, it gives you a lot of options.
