Is it possible to find a F-headstock decal /logo in black with golden rim already in 1966 ?
They are said to be introduced in mid ´67.

Never in my 50 years of Fender obsession have I heard of such. But who knows? I'd be very suspicious though, if one was presented to me.
Have you come across an alleged '66 Black logo specimen?

I have only seen pictures of it.
Has a 66 heel stamp and headstock logo is black /gold like ´67 onwards.
Picture of logo is not that near , but seems to show an original logo (outlinewise).

Are you talking about a Stratocaster? There is a batch of necks out there, stamped 10 FEB 66B or maybe 22 FEB 66B that turned up on strats in ‘69 that are legit. They had the bold black logo and were likely unused leftovers or mis-stamped and it should have been FEB 69. The bold black logo started 67/68 for strats and teles.

Edited to add a pic from the web. This should be 22 but the first 2 is only partly there. It’s on an otherwise stock ‘69 strat. Stamping mistake almost certainly as the 22 code for the strat didn’t exist until 1968.

Yup, from nov. 1965 (big Strat headstock appears) the Strat neck code was "13" until late 1967, then "22" until march 1973.

Hello richardb64 ,
that is a very interesting information ! Never read or heard of before.
It's a Telecaster . She has F-tuners, but there's a hole to be seen beyond the E-tuner. Looks just like Klusons could have been there before.
Some pics :

Hmm, I guess it’s possible to have an August 66 neck stamp and the black logo. The black logo did come earlier on Teles and the one in the picture looks original. The F branded tuners came along at about same time and I have also seen guitars with the F tuners that also had unused Kluson mounting holes also drilled, so that makes sense. It was definitely a transitional time and I reckon that Tele neck left the factory like that, maybe in 67 just after they started with the new logo and the F tuners. Perfectly possible imho.
