• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Has anyone had a chance to try out the reissue Fender Blender? I've been searching through all of the 'usual suspect' gear sites and I've only found 1 or 2 reviews. I've been wanting a Blender for ages so I've had high hopes that the reissue is fairly accurate.
And yes, I know that it is a very extreme over-the-top fuzz that at maxed settings can produce some truely hideous tones.
And no, I have no earthly idea in what musical context I will use it. ;)
But I still want one.

I had an original-I think it is lost in my mother's attic - It was a great pedal - the best to go from clean to grind, with built in volume control. Wish I had it-it would do hendrix or ZZtop fuzzfests without a sweat.

Hey GuitarG & DonR; So you're old enough to remember those fuzz bombs! I had one also & used it in the 70s until it finally croaked. A local celebrity guitarist around here (Travis Wammack, who recorded Scratchy) used to use 'em. I haven't caught his show in a while, so don't know now.

They might be useful for recording (or maybe playing In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida!).
I didn't even know it had been reissued. I do remember the edges & corners of the metal case were almost as sharp as the fuzz it produced. :lol

PS. GuitarG; Glad to see you survived the hurricane. Only a few downed trees & blown-off roof coverings up on this end of the state.

Pearly, I'm glad you made it through the storm OK.
Re: the Blender, back in the '70's I had a couple of friends who used them and I always thought that those pedals produced the most unique sounds. You definitely knew when they were on. :) I've been wanting one ever since. I always kept an eye out for an original but never got around to picking one up. Plus, in the last 10 years or so they have been going for stoopid money. So I was very excited when I heard about the reissues. There was a lot of discussion about them before they were released, but I've only seen two reviews from guys who have one. They are going for $149 so I probably should just go ahead and get one, but I was hoping to read a few more reviews before purchasing. Musictoyz has a video demo of the Blender. If you haven't seen it, check it out.

GuitarG;
Boy, just that visual image took me back! Then the video with the cool audio really took me back. You shouldn't have shown me that; I have too many pedals already! :biglaugh:
