THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
WE HAVE MOVED THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER! Let us know how it is going! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!
I Knew Mike. We both grew up in Newport, RI and went to high school and surfed together. We weren't close, but we all ran in mixed circles. He was a year ahead of me. Class of 1990. He was definitely a fast tracker, intense and very smart. To me, it was obvious he was destined for success. Last time I saw him was, I think, some time in the fall of 1996. We were hanging at the house of mutual close friends drinking beers. At some point, we all went out to a bar and for more cocktails. He was driving a brand new M3 or M5 BMW. Flashy, yes. But he earned it for sure. Didn't change the fact that he was still a chill guy to hang out with and talk too. The night ended, we all said goodbye, and went our own way. The next time I saw his name was when I read his obituary.
