• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I just got this amp to once again scratch the Marshall itch and it is my favorite Plexi style amp I've owned so far, including Germinos, Reinhardts, 70s Metal Panels, and other clones. However, my main rig is still based around the Fender amp sound and I don't want to have money tied up in an amp that I won't be taking on the road when it could go towards something more useful to me.

For those that don't know about these amps, they're based on one of Eric Johnson's '68 Plexi heads, reverse engineered by Doug Sewell, with some added features. Most importantly, this has a built in 6-step power attenuator that actually works. It's one of the louder 50 watters I've played through but even at the lowest setting (bedroom level) the power tubes are still being driven and it sounds great! The channels are also internally jumpered with independent bass/treble volumes, so you don't need to carry around an extra cable OR an attenuator to get a variety of great Plexi tones at all volumes. You can also turn one volume all the way down and it's like plugging straight into one channel. The amp also has a bunch of speaker outputs, EQ controls that actually work (unlike a real Plexi), and external bias points.

The amp was built in 2013 and says "'68 Plexi" on the back along with Paul's signature. The amp looks like it came off the factory floor yesterday and is in immaculate shape with a beautiful charcoal flamed maple front panel.

Like I said, a Plexi really has no place in my touring rig at the moment, however some of the songs on my new record are in open D and I need a dedicated open D guitar to avoid tuning acrobatics on stage. Looking for a nice vintage style Telecaster or a cool vintage Jaguar or Mustang. I might be interested in a sunburst historic Junior too. A white guard or 60s double bound style Tele would be my preferred option. I would entertain a cheaper Tele plus cash, but I have no cash to add at the moment, though I have other trade bait. Not interested in amp trades.

Sale price is $1,550 shipped CONUS only. Trade value a bit higher.
