• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Why, when you know your never going to get away with it, maintain the fiction that your in possession of an original 'burst.. Even as a joke its devoid of wit or pith, though ironically those words rhyme really well with pri*k..
I don't normally use such language, but even the notion that someone could be taken by such a scam really stews my fruit, if you know what I mean.

I recall that his eBay listings usually featured attractive and scantily-clad women. Those listings go back maybe 15 years ago.

Yep the crumpet with guitars and godzilla with the pickups........lord knows what he would have dreamt up for other bits and pieces.

Oh yeah I remember that guy and his shenanigans. I guess he's still out there prowling for victims.

I stand corrected . Thanks Bizzwriter and Cody . A big swing and a miss . Sorry Guys .
No worries -- Garcia played every possible guitar at one time or another, including many different Gibson models. I think he played that particular Les Paul Deluxe for only one gig. (Berkeley Community Theatre, August 14-15, 1971)

Ok, you just blew my mind in a pleasant way with telling me that Captain Trips only used it for one show ! Wow , is there a gear resource for all of Jerry's gear over the years ? Like there is for EC http://www.whereseric.com/the-vault...ptons-guitar-amp-and-equipment-set-historical ? Now this is one fella I would have loved to shadow and follow just to get a glimpse of how he got/coaxed all of those wonderful sounds on his fretboard so many years ago . 26 years gone so soon ! Miss You Jerry !

Reading your link El toro find it interesting the Fool was a 64 all those wonderful sounds from most likely Paten Sticker pickups, not magical PAF's the Unicorn.

To think such Glorious sounds from pickups not having PAF stickers .
Great post !

I love your wording "not magical PAF's the UNICORN" So fitting of an adjective I must say . Now for one of my dumbest moves ever . Back in the 90's like an Idiot (of which I am quite well versed ) I passed on a vintage double black PAF because I didn't wan't to spend 5 Benjamin's .Dumbest thing I have ever done . Jeez I should have scraped ,borrowed , stolen , or done whatever . Today , I could probably buy some vintage pole screws for that amount . I am such a dummy and it was from a reputable vintage guitar shop who I had done plenty of business / shopping with . That is pretty mind blowing that they were Patent Sticker Pickups in the Fool as it was such a misconception that Fool wasn't a 61 , but a 64 .

Here's a pretty good listing of Jerry's guitars over the years, including some great pix: http://deadessays.blogspot.com/2019/08/jerry-garcia-instrument-history-guest.html
