Resale is always easier and better with a COAI see the older style on eBay all the time blank. I don’t understand why Gibson can’t somehow authenticate their own guitars easily and issue a replacement COA for a fee however. Surely they would know their work from some fakes out there.
Having said that, I have bought several Historics without COA or any other original hang tags etc and frankly never missed them. They’re no big deal or deal-breaker for me.
