I know it's been asked about before and there are options from Callaham and Faber that will replace the bushings with steel studs - but I took a different route. First I got the Nashville-ABR-1 conversion bushings from Guitarfetish.com ($11 shipped)- they're the same size as the stock bushings but with a M4 thread. Using the bushings as guides, I wrapped my drill in teflon tape to protect the bushing threads and drilled down into the wood below the bushings about 1/2-3/4 of an inch. Then I tapped the holes, got some long M4 screws, screwed them in, cut them to size, and slapped my Nashville back on (yeah, I know - you're gonna tell me to go ABR - but I like the Nashville). The nice thing is it's all reversible. I was going for more sustain and it worked - I left my old strings on to make sure I wasn't hearing a difference due to new strings.
