• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

With three Historic Les Pauls and a Fat Neck ES-335 in the stable, I thought I might like to paint with some different colors. I found a nice CS '54 reissue Strat that should do the trick. It's got a big fat neck that should help it feel right at home. Now the waiting game. C'mon Brown Truck......

I think you are going to love it! Never played a Fender CS that wasn't really really nice. They are very consistent. I waited WAY too long to tick the "buy a really good fender" box off, and I am over the moon with my CS Nocaster.

Fingers crossed. I have a Nocaster as well. I found that one used. This will be my first new Fender since 1990. They cost more now!

I also owned 2004 '54 MB for a while. It was a beautiful guitar and as much as I tried to bond with it, I just don't get on with Strat's unfortunately.

So did I actually. Mine is a 6.6lb '06 Relic, got it with both cases from Marks Guitar Loft for a bit over $1700. Couldn't believe the price, so I jumped on it.

Good luck with the strat!

Mine is really light too. It's a NOS that suffered some finish checks when it was shipped in the winter. The seller viewed that as a defect and set the price accordingly. I viewed it as light relic without paying for light relic. I dropped some Lollars in it when I got it to jack up the output a bit. It makes a great companion to my R6.
