This 61 LP standard has a few interesting features. The bonus feature is a copy of the ledger showing a list of "LP"s that the Carter tells us means Les Paul Standard but we already knew that. The serial number for this ebay listing is 15015 and if we look up the number we see it shipped April 28 1961. All looks good so far but then I see the serial number is done in a large font not a typical font. We have recently discussed the relation between of large fonts and factory repairs in another thread. Maybe this is nothing to be concerned about. The second anomaly is the neck join. The neck join is more consistent with a 62 or later LP model not a 61. So does this raise the possibility of a factory neck replacement?

This was cool to see a page out of the vaunted Gibson Ledger .

Very cool.

I thought the ledger was interesting in that there was a discrepancy with serial number 15028. It was added at the top of the page as a LP, but it's listed in numerical order below as a LGo. (Also with another note in brackets) :hmm

There is the lady that bought the guitar new, then Gary Dick owned it and now the person selling the guitar owns it, but make no mistake, it's a "one owner" guitar. Apparently, none of them knew how to put strings on correctly.

It would be interesting to ask Gary about this guitar to see if he remembers it and why he didn't mention the serial number's large font. Also, if he did a black light test as it may show if a neck replacement was done. Looks like there were three guitars (LP Std/LG-0/ES-330) assigned the number 15028, anybody have one them? How do we get Carter to publish all the pages from the logs? I would certain like to see the ones for guitars I have owned.
