This 61 LP standard has a few interesting features. The bonus feature is a copy of the ledger showing a list of "LP"s that the Carter tells us means Les Paul Standard but we already knew that. The serial number for this ebay listing is 15015 and if we look up the number we see it shipped April 28 1961. All looks good so far but then I see the serial number is done in a large font not a typical font. We have recently discussed the relation between of large fonts and factory repairs in another thread. Maybe this is nothing to be concerned about. The second anomaly is the neck join. The neck join is more consistent with a 62 or later LP model not a 61. So does this raise the possibility of a factory neck replacement?
