Is this legit? Vintage 1970's GIBSON Les Paul

So this came up on FB marketplace near me:

It has no serial number and a decal instead of an inlay. And I'm NO expert, but it does have fret nibs. Obviously bridge, saddle, tuners are not original.

Go for it?

Hmm ad even says may not be a Gibson and has had a headstock break/fix.
Personally I would look at it as a copy and decide if you want a Kahler loaded LP copy amd what that might be worth to you with the headstock fix.

The case and logo aren't period correct for a start. Maybe someone refinished it and applied a different logo over the top but personally I wouldn't trust it.

There are legit Gibson guitars without a number or removed number in that period. So this not a sign for a fake. Overall the looks are not bad despite crappy pics. Ask for hi res pics.
Another point: These Kahler trems has a route into the body, which cannot easily be repaired.

Despite all the caveats: For 725 bucks i would jump on it.

I know that style of inlay was on the studio models in the 80's and during that period there were a few funky models. "Made in USA" Kahler it would seem too. Doesn't look like I see the locking nut though. Hmmmm.

When the ad says Vintage 70s, then something is dodgy even if it is an 80s studio. No locking nut, no.

It's a weird one. The fret binding looks mid 70's or up, the neck however looks mahogany with a big volute, as I mentioned the Gibson script looks like 80's non-standard models along with a made in USA labeled trem, finish kinda looks MIJ though. So, worse case scenario it's a re-worked MIJ guitar. Or, one of those funky guitars that was returned to Gibson or somewhere similar in the 80's to get worked on.

Again, no matter what, it's priced at 3 figures here.....

The open book of the top of the headstock looks like a Chibson. To top it off it's on Facebook marketplace. I'd steer clear...
