Looks like we've lost another Burst brethren. J. Geils, RIP. The ultra rollicking Full House album was inspirational to me in my formative guitar playing years. "Whammer Jammer"! "Take out yo false teeth momma, I wanna suck on yo gums"

My buddies all saw the Full House show at the Cinderella in Detroit. I like to think I can hear them shouting on the album. I was grounbed that week.

RIP Mr. Geils

Yep, Full House was a biggie on my rotation too. Saw them in Cincinnati a couple of years after House. RIP, J.

I miss J. Geils, Not sure about anyone else, but he was an underrated guitarist. Monkey Island and Bloodshot are fantastic records. Was listening to them as I was writing this post. But my copy of Bloodshot is pressed on black vinyl instead of red. Maybe it was a repress?
J Geils owned a few Gibson Les Paul guitars. A 1959 sunburst Gibson Les Paul was sold in 2012, a black Gibson Les Paul, a 1977 Gibson Les Paul sunburst with strings missing and a broken neck was auctioned off when he died, and he also owned a 1954 Sunburst Fender Stratocaster that was auctioned off when he died in 2017. He also owned an orange 1936 Gibson ES-150 electric guitar, a Gibson Flying V, a Gretsch, a Gibson L5 owned by Howard Alden, a Gibson ES 345, a Martin D28 acoustic guitar, a Gibson ES350, a Gibson ES5 and a lot of Fender Telecaster electric guitars, most notably in the video for Angel In Blue.
He also played Music Man and Gibson amps.
J Geils were a great jazz-rock and blues-rock styled band, and even though I love Centerfold and Freeze Frame, they didn't hold a candle to Looking For A Love or Give It To Me.
Too bad Peter Wolf's marriage to Faye Dunaway prevented the band from being taken seriously.
Most if not all of his guitars were auctioned off after he died in 2017.

Will you explain, please.
Back in the days Faye Dunaway was one of the most desirable women walking the planet.
So what was wrong with Peter's marriage?

It happened around the time of Gregg Allman and Cher, which was seen as a sellout.

Don’t interact with this guy. He got the boot from MLP not that long ago for necroposting and spamming up everyone’s feed.

He’s either a troll, or a bot, or both.

I saw the band at the Fillmore East. They played so loud, there was no one in the audience who could snooze through sets. Back in the good old days, we could regularly get 4 or more hours of music from several bands.
