Well, he threw one down form the top of the stairs
Beautiful women were standing everywhere
They all got wet when he smashed that thing
But off in the dark you could hear somebody sing

Oh, it breaks my heart to see those stars
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
I don't know who they think they are
Smashing a perfectly good guitar

It started back in 1963
His momma wouldn't buy him
That new red harmony
He settled for a sunburst with a crack
But he's still trying to break his momma's back

Oh, it breaks my heart to see those stars
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
I don't know who they think they are
Smashing a perfectly good guitar

He loved that guitar just like a girlfriend
But ever good thing comes to an end
Now he just sits in his room all day
Whistling every note he used to play

There out to be a law with no bail
Smash a guitar and you go to jail
With no chance for early parole
You don't get out 'til you get some soul

Oh, it breaks my heart to see those stars
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
I don't know who they think they are
Smashing a perfectly good guitar

Late at night the end of the road
He wished he still had the old guitar to hold
He'd rock it like a baby in his arms
Never let it come to any harm

Oh, it breaks my heart to see those stars
Smashing a perfectly good guitar
I don't know who they think they are
Smashing a perfectly good guitar

I thought they rocked and his lack of respect for the guitar is very rock and roll.
If it’s any consolation, looks like a Custom shop Les Paul to me and he’s very rich.

His lack of respect for the guitar was NOT rock and roll. It was lazy.
Pete Townshend is rock and roll.
Post Malone sells Doritos.

His wealth is no consolation.
"Let them play PRS" -- while I break my CS R9 'Burst -- is unsatisfying. (Let them eat cake.)
Post Malone sells Oreos.

I enjoyed the performance up to the end - but I actually yelled and recoiled when I saw the guitar fall. I hope it survived!

How much did you pay
For the chunk of his guitar
The one he ruthlessly smashed at the end of the show?
And how much will he pay
For a brand-new guitar
One which he'll ruthlessly smash at the end of another show?
And how long will the workers
Keep building him new ones?
As long as their soda cans are red, white, and blue ones
And how long will the workers
Keep building him new ones?
As long as their soda cans are red, white, and blue ones

Gotta love John Hiatt!

As for Post Malone and his shtick...I have no idea who he is; I'm just an ignorant old man. Looks like another tatooted and pierced conformist to me...

I'll always remember the sickened feeling when I watched a clip of Malmsteen sitting in his studio waffling on about something, surrounded by strats. He picked one up, then chucked it down almost with contempt. And I don't really care about strats. Just the lack of care.

And? It's a tribute to Krist chucking his RD bass in the air at the MTV Awards, holding his hand up to catch it like a rockstar, and braining himself with a 14lb bass. This way you don't have to deal with the concussion. /s

That is a vintage burst, not a reissue. :)

And yes, I gasped...yelped even.

I refused to believe that it was [edit: anything other than] a reissue because NO ONE would treat such a guitar like that - but this is true of any musical instrument!

Me reading your post...

Does nobody remember the Johnny A "Spruce Top" run from 2017-2018? Same kind of idea. They are killer.

More to come on the double florentine prototype model Pat is playing.

OK!! Now we're talking!

Mat: If Gibson is going to ever do a run of the spruce topped EDS/EMS guitars (with the Florentine cut-aways) please put me on the list! I want an EMS1235 with a mini-six (octave six) neck on top and a regular neck on the bottom! I'd like it in white, or maybe Copper Iridescent - and with stingers!

Put me on the list if it ever comes to be!
(I actually just called Troy Bennes at Woldwood to ask him if he might have heard any rumors about a run of the old spruce EDS/EMS guitars.)

I'm ready!

I personally don’t care if he smashes a guitar into a million pieces. Brings a table saw cuts it in half. Takes a 59 burst and sets it on fire. Whatever. No qualms. I’m betting it was a reissue and Gibson makes like 2000 a yr and they’re 10000 for sale anytime. No sentiment to other’s possessions. Mine, I take care of but it’s not precious gold. You can literally replace a reissue Les paul and still have a great instrument. None of my guitars are mint. I play them. If someone has a mint guitar? They can’t play it or it’s just wall art.

As for Post Malone? Not fan. Anyone that tattoos their face is a POS to me. A loser. Jelly Roll as well. Idc if they’re millionaires. They’re still a POS to ruin their faces like that.
