I've never really paid much attention to the Special. I recently got one and plugged it into my Fender Champ, wow!

What a Fun guitar to play and those P90s just howl. Wish I tried this earlier, what a trip.

I see a lot of videos on the tailpiece. Is it worth getting one of those aftermarket ones for new production or is that mainly for vintage models?

I love Specials.

If you're having a problem with intonation, try one of the new tailpieces. I like Mojoaxe, I have one on my '57 Special.

Yup.
I just got my first one (aside from a bolt-on Epiphone that I REALLY love), and I really dig it.
Unplugged, the loudest solid body I've ever heard, and neck-through Firebirds can be loud.

My first "good" American guitar was a hippie-refin (stripped) 1955 Special.

Wish I hadn't part-exchanged it. 😬

Congrats on your new Special, I've had a few of them, and my newest one is my favorite, a 2023 USA model, it's a squawker. I kept the stock wraptail on mine, but I know a few of my friends have gone with Music City or MojoAxe wraps as their's weren't intonating close enough for their ears. Mine's fine though and I'm picky!

here's me senselessly wanking on mine...

Highly recommend the MojoAxe!
Ditto. I have one on my reissue 1960 TV Special and love it.

A Special has a hidden gem in that neck position P90. I've had a couple of Juniors, but a Special has a much larger palette available at your fingertips.

The newer Specials are great. I really love the big necks and TV Yellow.

Mine is a '22 and I MOSTLY love it.
Intonation is a little flat on the high strings and the mahogany showing through the yellow makes it a little sickly green.
It workmanship is tops, the neck is great, it's super lively/resonant, the pickups are great.... it's a serious winner.
