THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING!
We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!
Early in the Mick Taylor era, before Keith became a Telecaster obsessive, Les Pauls and SGs also coexisted quite nicely:
(In this clip from the Maysles Brothers' legendary 1970 Gimme Shelter documentary, Keith magically changes guitar from his Black Beauty Custom to a clear Dan Armstrong lucite guitar and back in mid-song, as the Maysles looked for something interesting to cut to from earlier in the concert or from another night at Madison Square Garden. Maybe there was something mystical in that arena back then, because Jimmy Page magically switches from a sunburst to a cherry red Les Paul and back again in several songs in The Song Remains the Same concert movie. )
