I have a line on a late 70s Marshall 2150, also known as the "rock & roll baby". Small, 100W with one 12" Celestion Powercell speaker. Apparently the only Marshall ever with a factory installed PPIMV master volume.
Rave reviews on HC (9.9 average for sound from 19 posters) but those often should be taken with a grain of salt.

I am still looking for a smaller amp that I can take out which also can do nice cleans without breaking up too early (and without breaking the bank either). I can get it for $500, and it's apparently in good condition. Some side handles have been installed, but for a guy with a history of back problems like me that's no biggie.

Any thoughts or experiences with this amp?

Even though it's a 1x12 it's still very heavy as it uses the 100 watt trannies. I don't think you'll have any problems getting a good clean out of it. $500 is a good price! That's about the going rate for a DSL 401 here....
