Just picked up a "new" amp at the weekend, a silver-face Fender Super Reverb 4x10 combo that I've had my eye on for a long time. The price finally came down low enough to bring it into my reach
It was advertised in the shop as being a 1969, but I knew that was unlikely, as it is one of the master volume models which I think were introduced about 1976. However, the price was right, & I tried it out in the shop for a good long time to be sure it had the sound.
Took it up to the rehersal barn last night to really give it a work out & all I can say is woo-hoo!! :headbange
This thing sounds fabulous, even if it isn't from the "classic" years...
I may have mentioned before that I use pedals for all my higher gain sounds, so all I need from an amp is clean running into crunchy, with plenty of volume. Needless to say, being a Fender, this thing delivers awesome clean sounds, but also has a mean & nasty cabinet growl at volume.
Mmmmmm - tasty.
No photos or soundclips, but I thought I'd share...
