• THIS IS THE 25th ANNIVERSARY YEAR FOR THE LES PAUL FORUM! PLEASE CELEBRATE WITH US AND SUPPORT US WITH A DONATION TO KEEP US GOING! We've made a large financial investment to convert the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and recently moved to a new hosting platform. We also have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!
  • WE HAVE MOVED THE LES PAUL FORUM TO A NEW HOSTING PROVIDER! Let us know how it is going! Many thanks, Mike Slubowski, Admin
  • Please support our Les Paul Forum Sponsors with your business - Gary's Classic Guitars, Wildwood Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange, Reverb.com, Throbak.com and True Vintage Guitar. From personal experience doing business with all of them, they are first class organizations. Thank you!

Howdy all! A guitar I’ve known about for a long while finally came up for sale. I’m fairly certain it’s a 1961 with a 4 digit embossed serial number. Original everything that includes case plus candy and the Gibson Invader Amp! The only thing missing, which will be forwarded when found, is the original sales receipt. It shrunk and darkened but seems to be holding up. Is there any way of keeping it from getting worse?

Not to my knowledge, apart from taking it off and using a good replica. Keep the vintage one aside in a paper envelop.

With the 1st fret inlay! A feature seen only on the 1961 ES345s!
Very, very cool! Congratulations!
Provide a playability and tone report when you can!
(That gold hardware looks almost brand-new! Wow!)
