Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster. I've played Les Pauls almost since I started playing, my first being a '92 Wine Red Studio I still have. I had a couple Studio Lites, a Traditional, and a Classic, but always wanted a Historic '59. About a year or so ago I finally decided to bite the bullet and sold a few pieces in order to fund an R9. The best shop within driving distance of me was House of Guitars in Rochester and what a great experience it was, shout-out to Curt. They took me to the back amp room and brought me Historics by the armful while I tried them back to back. The very first one I played was an R0 V1, which ended up being the one I chose. At 8 pounds 4 ounces it's nice and light, the neck is 0.86-0.94, so on the smaller side of R9 necks, but it fits my hand perfectly. I love the top, very figured without looking like a PRS Private Stock or something. This guitar is the one I've always been looking for and the honeymoon hasn't ended even a year in. I absolutely love the pickups and the volume and tone controls are so sensitive and usable across the whole range. This is a lifetime Les Paul, I just can't think of anything about it that I would change and kudos to Gibson on the Antiquity Burst finish.
