• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Timing is everything...I was looking for a Rusty Anderson and there were only a few out there. So I called Wildwood and guess what came in right before I called??? 4 RAs... Lance sent this one today. Guitar plays and looks unreal... Love it... Neck is perfect and the pickups are great... Very 3D Flame...

These seem as ideal new ES335s to me. Custombuckers are a big positive point for me, so i would prefer these to Warren Haynes 61 with Burstbuckers.

Congrats :salude

Short pickguard? :hmm

you're right, this one should be equipped with the long guard. I'd check with the seller.

Otherwise fantastic looking ES, congrats and play her in good health.

I have one myself but since I live in Germany and we don't get the best looking tops here, it's kinda plain with a handfull of birdeyes. But sounds and plays simply amazing. The RA is the best bang for the buck when it comes to an ES-335 from the Custom Shop

I won't be in town much, but it played great in the store. It has the correct long guard. I'll post pics when I have time.

I got mine yesterday and pu my Warren Haynes 335 too great time both different sounding guitars know I'll be using them live soon. M Bowen was there too had an original 59 345 with him. Great person known him for years. Tim and Vic too. Long time friends players and collector historians as well The Haynes is a very transparent sound a flatter neck than the RA. I can play classic rock and blues jazz and swing on these things all day long. Have the long guard on RA and shorter on WH. The neck on the RA is thicker than the other but not as big as a 59 spec closer to 60. Heard some killer sounds thru Gibson tweed early 61 too from Vic playing 59ri les Paul STD. Nice to see my friends again. These 335's are great value from Memphis:dude:

Got to play the RA all day... Guitar is awesome... Gibson is sending the bigger guard tomorrow, but to be honest the flame is so nice I don't know if I am going to change it. I kind of like the shorter one. I know the 50's style has the longer guard but... I will have to compare it...

Thanks

Glad you're diggin' it!!! :salude

The pickguard thing... Meaningless! The important thing is, you're diggin' it...

Somebody asked about my new WH on another forum, "What are the features that a Haynes has that make it different?"... My answer was, "I have absolutely no idea..." Gives you some idea of where I'm coming from... :peace2

Gibson sent me the correct Pick Guard... Don't know.... I know it is period/model correct but I am leaning towards the smaller one... It just looks better...

Nice axe. I always prefer long guards on natural and sunburst ES-335's, short ones on cherrys.
