• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Quality time with my LP Standard

I've been playing this guitar exclusively and extensively the last couple of months and it puts a smile on my face everytime. Usually I would be upset over dings and scratches, but this is a 13 year old guitar and the wear just adds to it's character and mojo. It plays and sounds better than ever.

Those things are like beauty marks. They add character and personality to your guitar, just like us and the battle scars each of us pick up on our life's journey.

That's a pretty Standard -- dings, cracks and all.

My recently aquired L6s has "that smell" of many smokey dives, many late nights. When I tried to get the pickguard off (to check and clean under it) the screws were pretty well rusted into the wood and took some doing to get undone without snapping the heads off (heat from soldering iron works good there). Once off... that "old beer" smell.

I tell ya, with todays smokin' and drinkin' laws, you just are not gonna find guitars like smell as good as this any more.
