First my account was lost somewhere, then Ithought, let s take a break, last winter I lost ‘most anything thru a divorce, including my beloved 02 R4 , then I learned that Gibson had made a change in the placement of the Gibson logo on the R 4, so when I ll get back on my feet again, guess what?!? I need all the info I can get about those new R4…….that’s to make a long story short!😉 I logged again with a new email address !

Sorry, and most sorry for your losses... Here's hoping life will bring you good things to come!

Yeah, they are sill doing the lower logo pre-R7s, for R4-R6. Search here for Low or Lower logo, you'll see it's been a topic of discussion, and I recall the transition occurred late-2021/2022-onwards.

Make sure to double-check the photos of any particular guitar, just in case, but once the transition was complete, they still come this way, the Custom Shop has not regressed on that spec.

Good Luck!

Dealer sites even Gibson's product marketing site, have inconsistencies and errors, and they are 'lazy' about upkeep and often copy-paste from older listings, etc.

That's why I recommend asking for current photos and weights of the specific serial numbered guitar in question, from any source, or working with dealers that do this a priori. Sweetwater, The Music Zoo, Wildwood being examples (not the only ones). Some also give neck measurements at 1st/12th.

Thanks for the hint , though I think the r4 necks must be in a consistent ballpark 👍👍

Yup.

All recent profiles are the "50s Rounded Medium C" unless otherwise specified due to a 'special' Made-to-Measure or Dealer-Run, which should be explicitly mentioned somewhere in the listing.

Be careful with 'used' listings, some prior owners don't know what to explain as important attributes, if they bought a 'special' versus a typical Historic Reissue...
