Re-fretted my Telecaster With Wrong Wire

So I just finished re-fretting my Telecaster and realized I used Gibson fret wire. Oddly enough, I like the guitar way better this way. Maybe it's because the old frets were really worn out, but I'm not changing it back.

I don't wear frets out that often, but I usually stick with the factory specs on everything. This is a happy accident I guess. :)

There's no such thing as Gibson fret wire.
That's like saying, "I put Gibson strings on my Fender, but I like them!
The only right fret wire is the kind you want.

Oh my bad. I always thought they were different sizes. I think these are a little wider.

Wider won't make much difference. Taller will make a huge difference. Taller AND wider can make the frets feel a little easier to move up and down the neck, and they'll last longer.

I use Gibson guitar polish on my telecasters…

(it’s really Epiphone guitar polish but I put a Gibson sticker on it)

Some of the polish you buy at the store is McGuire's. You can buy a gallon on Amazon for about $20 or so. I have the numbers written down if you're interested.
